On Thursday, January 12, at the heart of the Paris&Co incubator, which has welcomed us since last October, we, with 100 employees, freelancers and entrepreneurs, took the time to look in the rearview mirror. We have also and above all set the pace for this year 2023 full of challenges to build with you this new work experience that so many people are waiting for. For all of you who couldn't be there and you who are Paatchers out of Paris, here is a reading that will give you all the keys to a successful year with Paatch.
First, let's take a step back from what happened last year.
2022, the year of returning to the office. That's how I introduced my point during the kick-off. Imagine the vertigo of a startup that was born to free the work experience from the centralized office experience at a time when many French companies were activating the reverse gear at full speed (creation of Paatch SAS, March 2022). Despite all this, it was necessary to resist and persist.
The very good news is that we already had a hard core of Paatchers (employees and freelancers working remotely) ready to resist precisely. Ready to assume working freely and to disseminate the innovative model of Paatch.
We therefore devoted the second half of our year 2022 to structuring, growing and pampering our community of Paatchers in parallel with the creation of a catalog of coworking spaces and villas suitable for community teleworking and in accordance with our demanding specifications.
And if the year 2022 was indeed the year of return to the office in France, it is finally also the year during which the Paatchers community tripled in volume. We received a total of 1074 applications to join the community, coming from 54% of employees who work from home all or part of the time.
Its composition has certainly changed a bit but remains very interesting for the future: in 2021 and during health restrictions, Paatch was 80% employees and 20% free/entrepreneurs. Now, 50% of employees work from home and 50% of free/ entrepreneurs.
Our vision has been crystal clear from the start: The ideal work experience must be individualized, just like what we expect in our daily consumption. Individualized but not individualistic.
The collective must live. More than ever. At Paatch, community is our credo. Cultivate our community of pioneers in community remote work and cultivate your communities. The experiences that we allow to live help both employees and free employees as well as the companies that make them work to streamline human relationships in a world where teleworking will remain.
Paatch's offers, which became more specific in 2022, respond to this logic of personalization and collective emulation outside the office:
1) Paatch'day allows anyone to work, for a day or half a day, in a cowork near home with the people of their choice in 10 cities in France.
2) Paatch'life allows any person or group of people working remotely to leave for a week to live and work in a community with a participatory format standardized by Paatch.
This new year will clearly be and is already one of acceleration for Paatch who has now found his bearings. An acceleration for our Paatchers community, whether they join the movement by themselves (Paatch Community) or via their employer (coworking days, offsite or tailor-made stay in Paatch Houses).
The objective is very ambitious: 5,000 Patchers as of 31/12/2023.
It will be thanks to you Paatchers who talk to people around you about Paatch and then enjoy it. It will be thanks to you partners, owners or operators of houses, cottages or coworking spaces who promote our brand and our community experiences. It will be thanks to you employers who are pioneers of flexibility, comfortable with the practice of teleworking, who are paving the way towards a world of work that meets the expectations of today's and tomorrow's employees.
While this objective is clearly our common thread for the 11 months now ahead of us, it comes with a precise and comprehensive plan to provide you with remote working experiences and extraordinary encounters.
Here are the milestones of this plan and the key moments of the year not to be missed if you like to work from home:
The year 2022 was that of the regionalization of Paatch. The opening of 10 cities for Paatch'days (a day of coworking with several people) proved that the interest of the Paatch model was applicable throughout the country and not only for Parisian executives in need of nature. In 2023, the regional dynamic will be even stronger with the opening of 10 additional cities.
So we are launching the Paatch'Tour in February! The first dates have changed a bit since January 12 but here is the agenda:
This year, you will have news from Paatch every month and live on Livestorm or Zoom. Each time, we take 5 to 15 minutes for the community to discuss its problems and desires and to continue to co-build this adventure together as we have done since day 1. So meet every first Wednesday of the month at 19:00 for a live of up to 30 minutes, effective, dynamic and with a surprise guest! The first will take place on Wednesday, February 8!
You are all waiting for news from Paatch'life. Our coliving format is both our flagship because it gave birth to us but also the most intense formula for both enjoying places close to nature and being stimulated by a group dynamic to move forward on your subjects far from your often urban daily routine.
The next Paatch'life will be announced very quickly, including one this Thursday evening (follow Insta, the newsletter and Linkedin) but to give you some milestones: in March, direction the ocean and the southwest. In April, the Alps call us back. May should rhyme with Cap Ferret!
For those who have been part of the community since last year, you have seen and sometimes experienced it. We have experimented with a reward system for all your contributions within Paatch (organization of a Paatch, proposed new location,...). Code name: Paatch'Coins.
It is a credit system that rewards both your loyalty to Paatch but also and above all your contributions to maintain this decentralized and communal functioning that is the strength and extreme uniqueness of Paatch. This system will be gradually put into production from February to ultimately become Paatch's economic system for all our stakeholders, including businesses.
ITThis is not featured on the front page of our site, which naturally focuses on the Paatchers community. Our catalog of houses, cottages and lodgings are tested by demanding remote workers (solid wifi, large spaces, easy accessibility) and is the best resource when you want to organize an offsite with your team, your remote work colleagues or your free collective.
